The Resistance Starts in my Screaming Uterus

I was already terrified about the repeal of Roe v. Wade and how the Orange Felon's (O.F.) incoming administration has floated ideas of a nation-wide abortion ban and removing access to contraception. When I read about the "Your body" X/tweet, it was really nice to add a good ol' rape-y vibe to the mix.
While my husband and I are protected from unwanted pregnancies in other medically proven ways, I decided I should get another IUD now, because things could happen over the next four years and IUDs are good for seven.
Also, I would love to add to whatever statics will be compiled later about women taking protective control over their reproductive systems in response to O.F.'s reelection. (Please, someone write about these statistics!)
Fun fact: I got my first IUD when O.F. took office the first time due to similar thinking. When I relayed my thinking to my doctor at the time, she said something to the effect of "We've seen an uptick in IUD placement appointments. That must be why!"
This time around, I actually considered requesting a tubal litigation before I learned it doesn't affect your periods, which I enjoy not having with my Mirena IUD. Unfortunately (but appropriately), doctors won't readily grant us hysterectomies without a medical need...but that permanent "two birds" sure would be nice.
My screaming brain and uterus welcome the IUD back both as protection and to make a point (that most people won't know of, but still).
For those with uteruses: please make an appointment with your medical provider to talk about your needs and options sooner than later!
